I bought this for my mother directly from the Solutions catalog after seeing a similar one in a friend's home. I might have been disappointed had I not known what it looked like in advance. While the tree goes up easily (note that they pack the instructions under the tree!), it looks somewhat sparse out of the box, and the ribbon topper was pathetic. You can easily see the spiral "branches" that make up the tree - the designers should have used longer needles, particularly on the bottom. However, I judged that I could modify the tree to meet my mother's expectations. We went to a local craft store and picked up a bunch of wreath picks, poinsettia branches and ribbon. I cut the individual flowers off the poinsettia branches and wired them to the areas where the tree looked thin, did the same with the wreath picks and about a dozen bows made from the ribbon. I was also able to find two big, beautiful paid bows that almost matched the garland ribbon on the tree and replaced the topper. It cost about $85 and took me about four hours, including the shopping time, a huge improvement over the two days it used to take for Mother to get her tree together. It now looks beautiful. I hope to be able to leave most of the stuff on the tree when I collapse it for storage, but we'll see when the time comes. It is a convenient size - not too wide so it didn't require me to move a lot of furniture. It came promptly, and I found it very stable, and easy to assemble.After Christmas note: I ended up buying another tree for myself and doing the same embellishments. Since my living room is tight, the size of this tree was great; it's a little narrower than most of the conventional trees you find in the stores. I was able to collapse and store both trees with most the additional decorative items on them, so they should take a lot less time to erect next year. Bought the storage case for my mother, they were out when I tried to order it for myself. I put mine back in the box which worked well even with all the extra stuff on it. Keep the box; I wouldn't bother getting the storage case.
