Size: Sanctuary

The Sanctuary soars to 24-inch tall, creating a majestic presence for the two-figure set of The Christmas Story. The base is large enough to accommodate Gentle Animals of the Stable, forming a complete display. The design of the Sanctuary is based on historical architecture. Its gothic arches symbolize protective havens in which people throughout the ages have gathered to seek inspiration and hope. The two sides and center panel form a 'triptych' traditionally, a work of art in three panels. The pieces are constructed of wood, hand-painted and sanded for a distinctive finish. Rusted nail holes provide a decorative linear element and are metaphors foretelling the crucifixion.

These are absolutely beautiful figures, but they are much to large to include with the rest of Willow Tree Nativity. I'm not sure why they are so much larger than the rest of the collection, and I haven't been able to find a larger sized nativity collection to go with these nice animal figures. I am late becoming a fan of Willow Tree so I'm not certain whether or not there was a one time a larger set of the figures, but these are too big for the regular set that I have. Still would like to add that these are very nice, absolutely wonderfully detailed, just to big to be in the collection I have.
